In My Secret World

I saw The Secret Garden on TCM last week (the first sound version). It was my first time seeing the live action version. When I was about four or five my favourite movie was the cartoon version of The Secret Garden. I loved the idea of having a secret place all your own to escape to, where wondrous, almost magical things happened. Also the cartoon version had talking animals and when you’re a kid there’s nothing cooler than a talking animal. The movie got me thinking about making a playlist about secret worlds that we escape to, or live in. I found I had enough songs on this topic to do just that, so here’s my 12 track playlist called In My Secret World.

I was going to add this song to the playlist, but it’s not as cool without the video. Plus it’s a very good illustration of what my own secret world looks like. It’s called, This Is the Dream Of Win and Regine by Final Fantasy.

Artist of the Day

If you like synthpop, electro, and dance music you have to listen to Natalie Portman's Shaved Head. They have some awesome funky beats that you can break out and dance with. So here's a tiny playlist of my favorite songs from this band. Enjoy!!

Yaaaay the holidays are over and its a new year. I made a new a playlist this week inviting a new year. Not exactly. Hope you enjoy as much as i do.

I got a digital camera for Christmas! I'm so happy! I've been wanting one for so long. I took a photography course in school last year. I wanted to continue taking pictures, but I was using a pinhole camera that I made myself, so I needed a darkroom to develop them. Something I don't have access to this year. A digital camera frees me from having to use a darkroom, so I can continue taking pictures again. My enthusiasm over this gift inspired me to create a pop playlist centered around pictures and cameras. (This would have been up on December 27th, but on that day I accidentally downloaded some malware onto my computer and had to send it out to be debugged.)
